In summer 2019, Louis Poon, a retired architect-turned-farmer, joined hands with Green Skies, a newly founded social enterprise to help provide vocation training and employment opportunities to autistic youths. Inspired by the work of Green Skies. Louis introduced the concept of Aquaponics farming which he had pursued in Hawaii and Hainan Island in recent years. His dedicated research and passion for ecological and sustainable farming would benefit a social cause. Utilizing an abandoned rooftop of an industrial building, Louis and his Aquaponics team designed and constructed a 3000+ sq. ft. aquaponics farm. At the back of the farm space was a huge backdrop – a striking mural of flora and fauna designed and painted by autistic kids. The farm commenced its operation and production in spring 2020. Green Skies’ mission of “Moving Green for a Better Tomorrow” has begun!
